Finches

Another picture from around the house.  There are usually more birds.  They have been known to finish the sock in one day.

Rainbow over Fitch Mountain, Healdsburg

Each morning I look out a Fitch.  Some days it is wrapped in fog.  On some days it is hidden behind a curtain of rain.  I love the mornins the mountain is bathed in sunlight.  Then one day it was covered by a rainbow.

Street Art

Street Art in Rivers Bend. The City of Healdsburg is replacing our water meters with "Smart Meters. Someone thought our service line (water main to meter box needed to be replaced. All of the utility lines were located and the works showed to start digging. Victor, a sharp Eagle Scout, realized that digging up the street was a unnecessary expense and had our meter replaced in minutes. Thank you Victor and we love our street art.

The Horse

This metal horse is located on the Foss Creek Pathway across from the City Hall parking lot on Vine Street.  It is one of many pieces of metal sculpture placed along the pathway.

Little Boy With The Flag

This statue is in the Plaza in downtown Healdsburg.  It is one of my favorite spots to visit.  It is our local memorial to the son's of Healdsburg who have answered the call to arms since WWI and who did not come home.   On the base of the memorial are the names.  They are a reminder to me why I'm involved in the Sotoyome American Legion Family.

This picture was taken a year ago when the community dedicated our 9/11 memorial.   There were a couple hundred people in the Plaza that night.  I spent a few minutes with the boy with the flag and explained what was going on.

A Lonely Chair

Just the other day I noticed this chair, sitting in the middle of a small garden plot that is in an old orchard on South Fitch Mountain Road.  Nancy say's the chair has been there for a couple of years if not longer.

I have never seen anyone sitting in it.  The chair faces South, so the view misses the sunrise to the East and the sunset to the West.

The chair reminded me that, as the songs says, one is a lonely number.  Two chairs would mean a couple could share the view.
